Marking scheme

Default: 2 marks per correct, no negative marking (recent bulletins).

Paper 1

Attempted: 0 · Unattempted: 50

Paper 2

Attempted: 0 · Unattempted: 100

How this calculator works

Every correct answer earns the marks you set, and every wrong answer subtracts the negative mark. Unattempted questions score nothing. Recent bulletins use 50 questions in Paper 1 and 100 in Paper 2, each worth 2 marks.

Frequently asked questions

How are UGC NET marks calculated?

Raw score = correct answers × marks per correct − incorrect answers × negative mark. Recent bulletins use 2 marks per correct and no negative marking.

Is this an official result?

No. This is an estimate. Your official score is published by NTA, often as a normalised percentile.

Can I calculate marks from the answer key?

Yes. Paste your responses and the provisional answer key, one letter per question, and the tool counts correct and incorrect answers for you.
